Update on Ongoing Projects Around the Church
CLC Restrooms
Progress slowed down a bit due to the holidays and the city's slow pace getting inspections done. Inspections are all completed and we are back on track. The work should be done by the end of January. We will also do some additional painting in the hallway and lobby to compliment this whole project.
New Lighting in Parlor
The new overhead LED lights have been replaced in the parlor. There was concern about the safety of the old fixtures. The area is brighter, and the fixtures give the room a more up-to-date look.
Kourage Health
This is the non-profit group that operates the physical therapy area in the CLC. Their area needed upgrading as they have been in operation for over twenty years. This was fully funded by Kourage and FCC incurred no cost. It was mostly painting and new flooring and looks very refreshed. Thanks to them for doing this.
Choir Area
The Choir Room, Handbell Practice Room and hallway have had a complete update. This includes painting, new carpet, and signage. This project was funded by a long-time member that passed away last year. He had requested this area be remodeled with part of his gift to the church. I believe he would be very happy with the results.
Ceiling Tiles
When the roof was completed, the next phase was to replace a lot of water stained and mismatched ceiling tiles throughout the facilities. Rick Kulpa, Nate Dean and the janitorial crew are doing this project. By doing this in-house we are saving a substantial amount of money. It's an ongoing project and will greatly enhance the look of the building interior.
The property committee, with Facilities Director Nate Dean are working on several more projects for 2026 and additional information will be forthcoming.
