Harvest Project Introduction: Mental Health Fund

First Christian Church cares about your well-being, both spiritual and physical. Making this care practical, a recent Harvest Fund proposal was approved and has been instituted, to create a Behavioral Health Counseling Fund.

This project originated with The Way Sunday School Class, but the funds set aside are for any FCC congregant -- particularly uninsured and underserved members who can use our funds at either Mosaic Counseling or Bethesda Health Clinic. Up to three initial therapy sessions with a mental health professional will be provided. Adults, adolescents, and children are all eligible.

To take advantage of this service, you may contact Mosaic or Bethesda directly to make an appointment. Both clinics will require minimal paperwork. Of course, our ministerial staff (Chris Pulliam, Ginger Brandt, Jonathan Benedetti, and Jaden Gorham) are always available for guidance and can help you navigate this process.

At Bethesda, adults must prove employment and cannot be insured. Children may have CHIP or Medicaid. If you are new to Bethesda, an initial general health visit will be required and also paid for by this fund. Generally, you should get an appointment there quickly.

At Mosaic, you will be asked to attest to your income level but not provide proof. There you will be matched with a Priority Care Counselor within 48 hours. Wait times for adolescents and children may be longer at both clinics.

At either clinic, you will simply let them know you are part of the FCC congregation. You will not be required to pay anything for the first three sessions. The church will be billed, and to comply with HIPAA rules, the bills will not identify you by name. If you then want to continue therapy, you may discuss payment options with your counselor.
