Open Table Faith- “The Life of Chuck”: Movie & Panel Discussion

Join Open Table Faith on February 18 (Ash Wednesday) at 7:00 PM for a special screening of The Life of Chuck.
Directed by Mike Flanagan and adapted from a short story by Stephen King, this thoughtful and moving film reflects on the gift of life, the reality of mortality, and the meaning we find in the time God gives us.

Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent — a time when we remember that we are dust, and to dust we shall
return. This film gently explores that same truth by asking an honest question: “We’re all going to die… What now?” Rather than being dark, the story ultimately points toward gratitude, connection, and the quiet significance of an
ordinary life well lived.

After the screening, we’ll host a guided panel discussion featuring Pake Allen (TV/film podcaster), Jae Jerkins (professor of philosophy), Stewart Smith (film critic and enthusiast), and Brendan MacLean (pastor). Together, they will help us reflect on the film’s themes through lenses of faith, reason, and storytelling, offering space for thoughtful conversation.

We invite you to join us for this meaningful evening as we begin Lent with reflection, community, and a renewed
appreciation for the life we have been given.
