2026 Special Easter Offering
Our goal for the 2026 Easter Offering is $2,000. Received on Sundays, March 29 and April 5, this special offering goes to the General Church (National level) in Indianapolis. You may remember welcoming our General Minister and President, Rev. Terri Hord-Owens, in Traditional Worship last year. On that first Easter morning, grief and uncertainty were met with resurrection hope. Mary Magdalene proclaimed, “I have seen the Lord,” bearing witness to a love that answered sorrow with new life. Through the Easter Offering, we respond to that same resurrection love. Your gift supports the wider ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)—equipping college students for leadership, strengthening global mission partnerships, forming new congregations, caring for pastors and chaplains, and sustaining health and social service ministries. As we give, we proclaim that love still answers. We will receive this offering over and above our usual offering on March 29 and April 5. Special Guest Preacher (Traditional) Rev. Stephen Cady PhD President of Brite Divinity School (picture) I hope you will join me in Traditional Worship Sunday, March 8, as we welcome Rev. Stephen Cady to our pulpit. Rev. Cady began as President at Brite just over a year ago. He is an able administrator and leader… and an amazing preacher. In his first year, he has preached in about 30 different congregations (and he was one of the preachers at our denomination’s General Assembly last summer). As you may know, Brite Divinity School is a graduate school of Texas Christian University, and is the flagship seminary (training school for ministers) among Disciples. I am a graduate of Brite, and I still maintain an ongoing relationship with Brite by attending their annual “Ministry Week” each February. Rev. Cady asked to greet as many of you as possible following worship. So, I hope you will welcome him that morning in Disciples Hall.
