SAVE THE DATE: HOLY WEEK IS COMING!

Holy Week will be March 29-April 5 …that’s Palm Sunday March 29 thru Easter Sunday, April 5. 

Palm Sunday, March 29 – two worship services as usual.  Along with our children, we will wave palm branches and shout “Hosanna!” Traditional worship will welcome a brass quintet to bolster our hymn singing and worship.

Maundy Thursday April 2 at 6 p.m. – plans are still being made for this more informal worship gathering in Disciples Hall around tables.  We will revisit Jesus in the Upper Room.

Also, that Thursday, 7:15 p.m., if you have never been baptized, I want to invite you to consider being baptized.  We will have an Open Baptism Service Thursday evening April 2 for adults and young adults.  Several of our children will be baptized Easter morning.  Speak to Chris Pulliam if you are interested. 

Good Friday, April 3 – we will have our 30 minute noon service in the sanctuary followed by lunch in Disciples Hall.  We design this so you can attend worship and grab lunch while on your lunch hour.  Obviously, if you have more time, come and stay a while.

That same evening, we will host our annual U2Charist service.  “U2Charist” is a mash up of words “U2” – the name of a rock band with faithful leanings, and “eucharist” – a name for the Lord’s Supper.  We expect a good number of guests that evening as we worship together in Contemporary Worship (7 p.m.) accompanied by the music of U2. 

Easter Egg Hunt – to be decided.

Easter Sunday, April 5 – two worship services as usual (come early if you want your usual seat … park away if you are able bodied and willing to leave some closer parking spots for others).  We will celebrate our Risen Lord surrounded by 500 other worshippers.
